The laundry room in this apartment is super creepy. It is super tiny and even 2 people cannot fit inside at a time! They put new machines but the room itself is so small that you feel trapped inside.
Review from Apartments.com

I have been living at Country Gardens for about 6 months. I like being able to walk or bike to school, but other than that I don't have much good to say about these apartments. They are old, which I understand, but not well kept. My apartment "had the carpet replaced" just prior to my move in, yet it still smells horribly of carpet chemicals. I have maintenance requests, which I put in work orders for the day I moved in, that have never been addressed, even after putting in multiple requests... over and over again (also the only way to put in a maintenance request is verbally through the office manager, or written on a piece of paper and slid through the office door's drop box, so there is no way to track anything). The laundry facility is less than ideal. Most the time the washers are filthy, the washing machines aren't even hooked up to warm water, almost always the majority of the dryers are "out of order", and everything reeks of cigarette smoke. My clothes almost never come out clean and are covered in white streaks. Other than a great location to Shands, the VA, and Health Professions at UF, Country Gardens doesn't have much going for it. Of all the other apartments nearby, I wish I had chosen more wisely.

Property Manager at The Commons responded to this review
We are responding even though this review occurred prior to the new ownership and management which took over a few months ago.
First of all, we would agree with you. The location is AMAZING!! If you work at Shands or any of the medical facilities... around there, you’ll have no need for a car. You’re a 5-minute walk from where you need to be.
Secondly, you’re right again. Upon purchasing the property, we were aware that the prior ownership had neglected to take care of the property in a manner in which we are accustomed.
That is why we are in the process of a major renovation including:
1. Exterior Painting and building re-design
2. Remodeled pool and pool area including brick pavers, new
furniture, and new fencing
3. Completely re-vamped fitness center with all NEW equipment
including treadmills, bikes, rowers, ellipticals, free weights,
cables, and a designated stretching area with mats, medicine
balls, and more.
4. Re-designed and re-landscaped Courtyard area which will be a
relaxing spot to hang out with your friends or just read a book.
5. Re-modeled Laundry Room—We are in the process of adding all
NEW card-operated washers and dryers. No more lost or
jammed coins! Oh yeah, we’re adding hot water tanks as well!!
Did I mention the new flooring, paint, lighting, and plumbing
upgrades?
We agree with you that nothing is worse than stinky carpet, especially as you are just moving into a new apartment. That is why we are extremely excited about our UPGRADED APARTMENTS! Please come and take a look at how nice these are. You’ll be impressed.
