Black mold everywhere, redecorating fee doesn't go toward cleaning
You may be close to campus, but the rent still isn't worth it. My apartment was filled with black mold that they "sprayed for," but that didn't help when my roommates and I were sick for two years while we lived there. Shouldn't have moved there in the first place, but definitely shouldn't have stayed another year. The apartment was not cleaned before my move in and I know it wasn't cleaned before my second year of roommates moved in because I had stayed over the summer, so the redecorating fee is just another income for the owners. There were cracks and stains everywhere, and be sure to mark every single little thing on your move-in slip because I was charged $50 for a carpet stain that was there when I moved in, and I doubt the payment will go toward replacing the carpet because it clearly wasn't replaced for me. Save yourself and your health and don't move here.
